During 2021 I approach a Self Awareness school with which I am deepening the studies of Georges Ivanovič Gurdjieff. This is a new chapter yet to be written. Before continuing to read, thank you and invite you to keep in touch, you can find all my references on the Contact page.

At the beginning of this journey I found myself at a time when, on the threshold of 30 years, I had begun to ask myself different questions than usual. I felt within me the need to want to find those answers I had been looking for for a long time, which I talked about through music or that presented themselves to me through my daily work as a creative and strategist in my studio ( InnoBrain ).

In these years I have dedicated my energies to consolidating the start of my InnoBrain studio thanks to which, I get to know a shaman with whom I begin a path of inner healing through various techniques including Theta Healing , a technique that teaches how to use intuitiveness at best. I am fascinated by it and I decide to learn more about this technique by participating in various seminars and paths that have led me to improve my life. I feel akin to this philosophy which is finally beginning to give answers to the questions I have been asking myself for some time.

In this period I decide to resume studying piano and start a new musical training course with Maestro Nicola Rigato with whom I study composition and piano technique at Four Casa di Musica in Modena.

In 2015 I was contacted by a Swiss composer and producer with whom a deep friendship will arise, his name is Mattia Rissone. The proposal was to work on a project that would bring together Italian and Japanese culture by contrasting traditions, culinary arts and spirituality, identifying connections through music. The project will be called Gate, because it refers to the concept of “door” as a passage, something unknown but also a link between one thing and another. Japan is a country that has always fascinated me and I never imagined being able to carry out a project entirely dedicated to it.

The project was born and humbly traces a possible path between East and West , two cultures apparently at the antipodes but which have in common deep roots, local and social traditions almost imposed by a signal that we do not perceive, we do not touch but which has a new frontier, that of globalization.

In this project I had the honor of collaborating with Mattia Rissone who enriched me humanly and deeply in the production of 9 video clips and 10 musical pieces with sounds that I had never studied. A wonderful project that I will carry around forever. Our collaboration ends in 2020.

As I work on new music, play in different theaters and events, I begin to wonder how I can best express the emotional part of a music that has no voice during my performances. I want to create a new scenography for my performances.

I am a huge vintage fan and own over 100 pieces of televisions from the 60s and 70s. These colorful objects, important for our culture, symbol of a society in the making. I see a new use in them: removing dust and inserting colors that can convey something to the viewer through chromotherapy. I start to do several experiments, search for the right materials and the project comes to life as the setting for some events.

The idea of building a one-shot scenography turns into a real project to which I dedicate myself intensely. The colored TVs that I used on stage become VETA , a project with which to convey emotions even better through the use of colors and to be able to reflect on the concept of Memory. I present the project inside the Salone del Mobile, in collaboration with the company Scab Design .

VETA becomes an integral part of DeLord’s performances, associating chromotherapy with every song I play on stage.

I ask myself many questions about the meaning of life and start writing new songs to finish the Glass album. The project is interrupted, I know the composer Mattia Rissone, who offers me to collaborate on a project that will take me to Japan.

In 2014 I started working on a new project with the need to express that change that I had started to feel inside. I start working on a record that should have been named Glass. I approach quantum physics by participating in a research project called Quantum Genius and spirituality. I start working on it and I publish the first single of the project: “ Un Respiro” . This passage allows me to combine meditation during my performances. By letting the audience listen to the song, I shared methods for breathing control, to discover more and more hidden parts and to get to know ourselves better.

In these years I discover that a lot of my music has appeared in several promotional spots, independent documentaries and is the background to several hundred videos on YouTube. Among the various videos I come to know the short film “Hameln”, which won a European Union award in the category in favor of human rights.

During these years, what will later become InnoBrain Studio begins to take shape.

While I was performing to present some unreleased songs back in 2007, I was contacted by the bassist of a new band that was forming in Modena and that would bring a new genre to Italy: J-Rock. So I also became the keyboard player of the DNR band (Dreams Now Reality), we made J-Rock music and we had some success in Italy and abroad. We started shooting and traveling, from the Alcatraz in Milan to the freezing Moscow in Russia. At that time I divided my commitments in this double life between the solo piano and the keyboards, offering my solo music so classic and romantic in places where heavy metal or hip pop was listened to also to stimulate a different audience.

At a certain point, however, being halfway between two worlds tired me and the thrill of playing solo was overwhelming the stages with psychedelic lights. Thus began an intense period to finally propose myself to the theater. At that time I was working on a project that materialized with Visual Piano, a theatrical show that combined music, poetry, dance and 3d mapping. I created with my hands, not only to slide them on the keyboard, but also to build a structure with all my poems in relation to paintings to give the participants an inner reflection.

Visual Piano goes on tour with Marco Benisi at my side who took care of the 3d mapping. During Visual Piano I presented the albums Sognare part. 1 and 2 together with my collection of poems and what would later become the VETA project.

DeLord has always been DeLord. The encounter with music happened “by chance”. I come from a family very tied to traditions but where music has never been studied. I have a memory of a long time ago, I was with my father on an Italian television to try to be chosen as a testimonial for a TV commercial; after the selection a man came to me and said “Choose what you want, we want to give you a gift for participation”. I don’t know why, but out of everything I had to choose from (tons of children’s toys …) I chose a musical mini-keyboard and was one of the happiest children in the world.

Today I think that was the exact moment when I felt that life has given me the joy of being a musician. After so many years I realized that that child was trying to share a message: live to learn to be yourself.

I have never attended the Conservatory and mine is a self-taught path, I have had several teachers who followed me and whom I thank for everything they have transmitted to me: Marilena Scarpitti, Enrico Bernardi, Alessandro Lunati, Davide Fregni, Nicoletta Olivieri.

Until the age of 16 I played in several Cover Bands and in particular in the early 2000s I played in a Deep Purple cover band, the keyboardist of the English hard rock band was called John Lord, so it was from that moment that many people started to call me “the Lord”. I liked it because it had an intrinsic romantic meaning and besides, John Lord was one of my idols. The name I still use today was born because some organizers, instead of calling me correctly “The Lord”, wrote “DeLord”. I liked it and it made me laugh, I chose it and became for everyone DeLord, the writer pianist.
