Comparison of &#8220;Delord &#8220;by Lola Corre and &#8220;Christian DeLord&#8221; by Anema e Core.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The latest video clip of Christian DeLord&#8217;s single <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bhobPlZ9X4c&amp;t=10s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&#8220;Anema e Core&#8221;<\/a> won third place at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lovieawards.com\/it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Lovie Awards<\/a>, and as I often do in the face of a new milestone, I like to remember the beginnings.  <br\/>My very first single, as well as a video clip, was &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/p-Si1sIDnu8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lola Runs<\/a>,&#8221; which tells a very different story, though still talking about Love.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But perhaps it is time for the &#8220;DeLord&#8221; of 2012 to tell you about it.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, in this article I want to bring together the words and reflections I wrote on the blog in 2012 to recount &#8220;Lola Runs&#8221; whose theme, despite the years, remains as relevant and sensitive today as it was then. The music expresses Lola&#8217;s desire to break free from abuse and violence, in a race toward love, a feeling now forgotten.<\/em>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rather than prostitution per se, in the individual I was telling about the risks of such a profession, where people often find themselves in violent situations, rape and abuse that they cannot even report given the illegal nature of such a profession in Italy even today.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lola Runs &#8220;<em>addresses the sensitive issue of &#8220;violence against women&#8221; as applied to the world of prostitution in Italy; a cross-section of vision between Pasolini&#8217;s and Montanelli&#8217;s era is offered to push the viewer to reflect. She dreams of herself in a hotel, a place familiar to her having been there for work, but this hotel is different: it is deserted.  <\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Intrigued, she begins to explore it: she enters a room where there is a television set turned on with historical footage shot by Pasolini with snippets of interviews about prostitution and the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Legge_Merlin\">Merlin law<\/a><\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The second room he enters, however, depicts a cross-section of today&#8217;s situation of those who are prostitutes and often work on the streets.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Lola continues to wander in this empty hotel pervaded by a sense of unease, but she hears music, a melody that captures and comforts her and leads her to another place where she feels safe and secure. Music gives her hope again: it represents salvation.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>At some point she wakes up and returns to the harsh reality full of hypocrisy in which she is forced to live every day<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why put those objects and shots in the rooms, why add so many &#8220;hidden details&#8221; in one video clip? Today, music follows other logics, today we look for externality, bright, artistic shots: back then the only criterion was music and history, just think of the song &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/n5h0qHwNrHk\">Fake Plastic Tree<\/a>&#8221; by Radiohead.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But every little detail in the video was carefully chosen, and I immediately told about it:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;<em>When I started thinking about how to make the video of &#8220;<\/em><strong>\n  <em>Lola Runs<\/em>\n<\/strong><em>&#8220;, together with my two collaborators, <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.filipporimondini.com\/\">\n  <em>Filippo<\/em>\n<\/a><em> e <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marcobenisi.com\/\">\n  <em>Marco<\/em>\n<\/a><em>, we researched who had dealt with the topic la of prostitution in the past. <\/em> <br\/><em>We came across some video reports of <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pier_Paolo_Pasolini\">\n  <em>Pasolini<\/em>\n<\/a><em> interviewing popular reactions to the <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Legge_Merlin\">\n  <em>Merlin law<\/em>\n<\/a><em> (a 1958 law that sanctioned the closure of brothels and the abolition of the regulation of prostitution in Italy). <\/em> <br\/><strong><em>Pasolini<\/em><\/strong><em>  was silenced because he was a simple but &#8220;inconvenient&#8221; spokesman for the people. At the assembly stage, we chose to  <\/em><strong>\n  <em>associate Pasolini<\/em>\n<\/strong><em> with the figure of <\/em><strong>\n  <em>Montanelli<\/em>\n<\/strong><em>, because he too, albeit in a different sphere, had been &#8220;silenced&#8221; because he denounced political and social problems without allowing himself to be corrupted<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Certainly, despite the very topical issue, there has never been a political line-up or interest in it in me: it is a complaint, which unfortunately almost 10 years later remains valid. Certainly the importance of music in my songs has never changed, although today it expresses a more introspective message.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The evolution of music toward introspection by Christian DeLord.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those who have been following me for a few years will already know this, otherwise I&#8217;ll explain: some time ago I carried on a column on the blog called &#8220;Delord Tells Delord,&#8221; which in 2012 I defined as  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;<em>an interview where I tell my nature, my way of being. What&#8217;s behind Delord and his notes.&#8221; <\/em> <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In today&#8217;s society it is becoming increasingly difficult to succeed, blogs no longer have the &#8220;Public Diary&#8221; function they once did, and pretty pictures on Instagram have taken the post of thoughts on MySpace, yet I like to believe that I still manage to communicate my thoughts, feelings and reflections through my songs.  <br\/><br\/>This is the purpose of my latest Disc &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/43ppODGskBk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Essence<\/a>,&#8221; where I precisely search for and celebrate the true essence within each of us.
