Ezio bosso in concert at the Comunale of Bologna<\/strong><\/p>\n

Concert review: Ezio Bosso, composer, pianist and conductor, dedicated this concert to the earthquake victims of central Italy. If you missed it, you can watch the video of the performance of the song “Following a Bird” at this link<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\"Bologna<\/a>

8.40 pm It seems absurd but I have never been to the municipal theater of Bologna and for me it is the first time. Irene<\/a> , incredulous, told me that it is a good opportunity to remedy;)<\/p>\n

As soon as I cross the threshold, all the degradation I encountered while I was coming here magically disappears and I let myself be enveloped by this silence that takes on an inestimable value in this whirlwind of voices from our country that give no other time than that for sterile controversies. ..<\/p>\n

I’m late and now my seat in the audience is no longer available. I am given another “temporary” seat up to half-time, exactly 26c. Will it be a coincidence? I enter, my view is unique: it almost seems to be on stage with the orchestra.<\/p>\n

\"Delord<\/a><\/p>\n

In this first part of the concert we will listen to: Samuel Barber<\/strong> Agnus Dei,<\/em> Johann Sebastian Bach<\/strong> Prelude in E minor BWW 855, Arvo Part<\/strong><\/em> Fratres and two compositions by maestro Ezio Bosso<\/strong> Split and<\/em> Rain. (the latter are part of his record ezio bosso the 12th room<\/a> )<\/em><\/p>\n

The theater is delicate, so subtle and impalpable. I approach my seat and slowly enter in symbiosis with the music that echoes everywhere. All of a sudden the breathing slows down, everything calms down and becomes light as a feather. This is then Ezio Bosso<\/em> I tell myself, a light person but with an infinitely large soul and full of joy. I watch his movements become light, twirl in the air but at the same time take shape and strength to transform our inner silence into something magical that we love to call music.<\/p>\n

The music here is magic. It still does not seem true to me that I have enclosed outside this place the fascinating delirium and decay that is Piazza Verdi, which makes Bologna paradoxical and unique at the same time, a non-place where both situations co-exist at the same time, here and now.<\/p>\n

\"Delord<\/a><\/p>\n

Maestro Bosso’s audience is a very attentive audience, a meticulous observer of every moment of silence that separates each note that surrounds us to create this light dance that leads us to imagine this world in perfect harmony imagined by Ezio Bosso. At times these music remind me of scenarios of a past already lived in which hope never died together with the atrocities that were but gradually took up space in a positive and united world, softly colored and dancing, in festive admiration for all that we have managed to save and prosper.<\/p>\n

A little while ago I wrote down this quote that the maestro wanted to tell before performing his piece Split, postcards from far away<\/em> , “We are the only ones who can destroy things like an earthquake.<\/strong> Then this man looked carefully and in the midst of all the destruction of those bombings, he found a tea table and then he thought that the world still has a hope of being saved from the wickedness of man. “<\/p>\n

The repetitiveness that I encountered this evening in some of the music that was performed, at times reminded me of a Philip Glass<\/em> of many years ago, immersive and enthralling, minimalist but with class, capable of taking you to other places so far and deep inside of our soul. I wish you were here to perceive exactly what I am describing but, you can try to do it yourself: close your eyes and plug your ears, now listen carefully to the beating of your heart that in symbiosis dances together with every organ and atom of you, try to slow down your thoughts until you can capture them and now open your mind, imagine where you are, now, this is life. Your life.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We arrived at the interval and after an impeccable performance full of strong emotions, the audience dedicates a standing ovation to Maestro Bosso and the whole orchestra for allowing us to travel with them in this magical and enchanted world made of music and emotions.<\/p>\n

\"Delord<\/a><\/p>\n

The orchestra is back in full force, the piano disappears to make room for the performance of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy<\/strong> ‘s Symphony Symphony n. 4 in A major op. 90 “Italian”.<\/em> Maestro Ezio Bosso is also back with us as conductor ready to make sounds and emotions spin again on stage for an attentive and perceptible audience. Admired from here, the orchestra is unique, at times it almost seems to me to be part of it. It is all a perfect dancing harmony that we are facing, at times melancholy but still light.<\/p>\n

The strength of this man is impressive and the joy I perceive from his movements, from his scrupulous attention is fascinating. A careful search for perfection in conducting this symphony and allowing us to leave the world out there, where everything is confused with the paucity of cultural values into which this country has slowly fallen in recent decades … but all this sends us a signal : there is always a hope for a better future and it almost seems that here tonight everything is stuck to remind us, to tear us a smile and a great emotion of joy.<\/p>\n

\"Delord<\/a><\/p>\n

The concept I take home tonight is:<\/p>\n

“This music captivates, captivates, fascinates and drags you into another world to come. A better world. This music shows how beautiful our country is and this must be protected. There is only one way to be together and both you and my orchestra have shown it to me and it is this, by loving each other and by loving our country.<\/em>“
This is the phrase that sums up this concert and the message that Maestro Ezio Bosso<\/strong> left me during the concert.<\/p>\n

Goodnight Bologna.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’ve always dreamed of being able to write freely about music.
